Job Summary:

To assist in providing various support functions related to confidential labour relations/human resources matters.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Assists with various office functions and assignments.
  • Exercises caution and discretion with labour relations, human resources and other confidential information.
  • Collects and assists in compiling data of a confidential nature related to labour relations and/or human resources for others to analyze and/or assists in the analysis. Documents findings.
  • Inputs/retrieves/updates/maintains data.
  • Assists in organizing and presenting data.
  • Assists with calculations.
  • Assists in the preparation, research and processing of documents of a confidential labour relations nature.
  • Responds to requests and provides information or directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • May travel to various locations.

Key Qualifications:


  • Post secondary education or current enrollment in business, marketing, or English, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience scheduling and setting up meetings in Outlook, with familiarity of virtual meeting tools. (e.g. Webex, Slido).
  • Experience using SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
  • Experience translating information into clear, wellstructured presentations, tables, charts, and various communication materials using a variety of Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
  • Experience with events including supporting with logistics and coordination.
  • Good writing skills for crafting and editing businessrelated content.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Eagerness to learn, resourcefulness, and strong research and critical thinking skills to adapt to dynamic work environments.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills with the ability to meet set priorities in a fastpaced environment to meet tight, competing deadlines. Commitment to support the Toronto Public Service values to ensure a culture that champions equity, diversity, and respectful workplaces.
