Based in Sudbury, the Geotechnical Technician will report to the Project Manager and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on offering services to infrastructure, mining, and energy clients throughout Ontario and Canada.
You will be part of a team whose work encompasses specialized foundation and earthwork engineering, design of shoring and ground improvement schemes, design, construction and safety reviews of dams as well as forensic investigations.
What You'll Do:
As part of the TULLOCH Engineering team, you will:
- Participate in all stages of site investigation including proposal preparation, sub-contractor liaison, work plan development and co-ordination, field investigations and reporting
- Supervise geotechnical drilling and test pitting assignments
- Perform insitu soil testing including Cone Penetration Testing, Shear Vane Testing, etc.
- Perform soil classification, logging, and sampling
- Prepare borehole logs in gINT
- Inspect and monitor construction
- Assist with geotechnical modeling and data analysis
- Prepare reports
- Act as a liaison for communication with clients

Who You Are:
- You have 25 years of experience in the geotechnical field
- C. Tech or C.E.T. designation is an asset
- You have experience with the following: Geotechnical investigation, including borehole logging, insitu testing, and soil sampling; construction inspection and materials testing; geotechnical analysis and modeling software.
- You make decisions/exercises independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
- Able to pivot and alter approach or recommendations to accomplish desired results
- You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance
- You are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success
- Strong ability in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You Should Bring:
- High motivation with resultsoriented focus
- Superior organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to manage and navigate confidential and sensitive data and matters
- A valid, Class G driver's licence and a willingness to travel in Northern Ontario and across Canada
