We are seeking an Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) to join our Utilities and Off Plots (U&O) Production Team at our Joffre Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer.

Reporting to the Production Unit Leader, you will be accountable for prioritizing maintenance work orders to meet production objectives.


You will Use Your Expertise To:
Function as operations liaison accountable for prioritizing required maintenance in the unit.
Screen and prioritize maintenance notifications, maintenance backlogs, and unit expense project work to meet production needs.
Coordinate/Develop effective operations plans for unit maintenance and expense work, and communicate them to shift operations.

Represent Production in defining work scopes, aligning work requests to a budget, and establishing the timing for maintenance and unit expense project work execution against production optimization.

Consult/Coordinate with unit coordinators to determine appropriate scope of unit outages.

Ensure work planning is in alignment with the Plant Availability 10-year asset strategy; Consult/Develop and update a six-quarter (6Q) schedule that identifies all major maintenance work activities in the unit.

Accountable to the asset or process owner for ensuring equipment is available to perform its function safely, at set agreed-upon production rates.

Represent Production Team when maintenance and unit expense project scopes of work are being defined.
Facilitates spend control program within the production unit.

Acts a liaison between Operations and Maintenance; Prioritizes maintenance and construction work as required to ensure maximum opportunities are realized to meet production schedules, while balancing the need to maintain world class reliability and equipment health.

Function as a lead to ensure equipment scheduled for maintenance is available to be taken out of service for maintenance and construction activities.

Is actively involved in the validation, prioritization, and planning of the weekly maintenance schedule to ensure work is aligned with business and production needs.

Is the Operations focal point to properly communicate to maintenance teams and other front-line workers, about priority and direction for scheduled and unplanned maintenance in area of responsibility.

Support maintenance and technical workflow and processes and provides a direct link between Operations, Maintenance and Technical departments to facilitate and improve the Notification and Work Order Process.

Stays current and familiar with operations activities and conditions of how the plant is running.


What We Are Looking For:


2-year technical school diploma, or a valid Alberta and Inter-provincial (Red Seal) Journeyperson certificate, with 10+ years of related experience OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience OR 12+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing discipline or equivalent technology environment.

Working knowledge of Maintenance Work Management Processes (i.e., notifications, work orders, planning, scheduling, execution and follow-up).
Proven track record and personal dedication to Responsible Care principles.
Proven capability to work to broadly defined objectives, overcoming barriers.
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proven leadership abilities complemented by strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
