The Opportunity:
HR Manager


  • Provide direction to the HR team ensuring continuity, consistency, cohesiveness, and a streamlined approach to supporting our People First culture,
  • Identify, develop, design, direct and support HR strategies that contribute to divisional business plans,
  • Foster a learning environment by coaching and developing our Team Members in a continuous learning environment,
  • Manage recruitment and headcount to ensure appropriate replacements, approvals and process is being followed
  • In partnership with the VPHR, identify training for leaders using a variety of mediums including classroom, 1:1 and web based/technology
  • Ensure that employment enquiries, benefits issues, and team member raised concerns are managed in a professional, courteous and timely manner demonstrating proficiency in applicable company policy and statutory knowledge,
  • Develop, implement and deploy value added training programs for team members across multiple business channels,
  • Maintain a positive and productive environment for our team members to thrive, and
  • Ensure compliance with company and provincial Employment Standards/Human Rights Acts, Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Who you are:


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources and/or Business
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Minimum 7 years prior management experience, ideally within an HVAC/R, technical and/or distribution environment,
  • Minimum 5 years of solid management experience at a senior level,
  • 5 years of experience in talent acquisition, new hire onboarding, talent review and succession planning
  • Ability to develop and implement HR methodologies utilizing a strong business acumen and knowledge of current HR trends
  • Previous experience designing HR Metrics related to EBIT and sales volume per head count
  • Knowledge of HRSOX compliance and strength in HRMS
  • Experienced in designing HR led development programs (i.e. rotational programs, high potential identification, middle manager leadership training, succession plans)
  • Experienced in Compensation Practices, Performance Management, Salary and Merit Planning
  • Experience designing and implementing departmental short and longterm objectives in order to maintain consistency in approach, strategy and alignment with other mandates (i.e. pension audit, incentive programs & benefits planning, compensation)
  • Knowledge pertaining to benefits, Short and Long term Disability plan management
  • Experienced in overseeing a wide range of team member relations issues (i.e. terminations, team member investigations, disability management, policy interpretation, etc.)
  • Previous experience implementing change management and culture change policies
  • Past experience working with transitional management (i.e. mergers and acquisitions)
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
