***The temporary Accounts Payable Clerk will be a member of the Accounts Payable team which is responsible for the payables processing for a large private company with mining and manufacturing operations in Canada, USA and New Zealand and which utilizes an automated electronic invoice processing system in an ERP environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process supplier invoices against purchase orders or by direct entry.
  • Prepare a variety of account reconciliations including preparing and inputting appropriate correcting and/or adjusting transactions.
  • Answer internal and external inquiries, written and verbal, regarding accounts payable matters.
  • Liaise with, and be a resource to, plant or office personnel.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 to 3 years of related experience in a highvolume accounts payable environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Team focused personality.
  • Familiarity with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Computer skills must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience with accounts payable within an ERP system.
  • Experience with JDEdwards (Oracle) software an asset.
  • Strong English and/or French verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of deadlines and commitment to schedules.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
