About the Role

Compensation Programs

  • Provide compensation recommendations ensuring internal equity and adherence to policy
  • Complete all activities related to the nonunion annual compensation review process
  • Maintain union and nonunion salary structures
  • Administer the General increase for Union and Non-Union employees including updating the salary structures, preparing calculations, and reports for upload and testing.
  • Support the participation, collection, and communication of annual compensation planning data.
Provide Guidance

  • Provide guidance and communications relating to Pay for Performance Programs
  • Act as the escalation point in HR model for compensation programs and policies providing expert level guidance
Research, Analysis & Development

  • Manage the completion and submission of compensation surveys, salary planning surveys and benchmarking data
  • Analyze economic indicators, market data and trends to support external competitiveness
  • Conduct detailed research, analysis, reporting and forecasting as it relates to compensation programs and policies
  • Support legislative compliance by reviewing current and proposed legislation relating to compensation and conduct risk assessment
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with the Retail Compensation & Benefits Network, creating and participating in adhoc Network surveys
Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare annual Public Sector Salary Disclosure (PSSD) including variance analysis, statistics and rationale
  • Conduct audit of HRIS compensation data on an annual basis, including managing rectification of any issues identified
  • Support other compensation reporting and compliancerelated activities
About You

  • Completion of a postsecondary degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of compensation experience
  • Direct experience in corporate and unionized compensation analytics
  • Sound knowledge of HR and compensation policies and procedures and union contracts.
  • Significant knowledge of employee compensation best practices in both union and nonunion environments
  • Sound knowledge of Pay Equity Act, Employment Standards Act, Protecting the Public Service for Future
  • Experience working with current HRIS systems, preferably Workday
