We are actively looking for a
Contracts Specialist, Procurement (Toronto) to join and support QuadReal's Operational Excellence Team.


Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Contracts Specialist, Procurement is responsible for providing accurate and timely support to business units for operating properties in all asset classes.

This includes responding to questions, addressing any areas of concern as the business uses contract documents and ensuring good governance and compliance with QuadReal's standard contract forms.


The role will support the business by developing, facilitating, implementing, and administering national procurement programs and initiatives, supporting the development of scalable tools and processes for a sourcing and procurement transformation program over several years.


You must bring exceptional business judgment, problem solving mindset and creativity to your daily role, and have a track record of collaborating and thriving in a fast-paced and fluid team environment.


  • Responsibilities
  • Act as an advisor for multiple business units as they negotiate contracts and contract terms. Explain contract terminology and potential risks in plain language and ensure that any deviations from standard contract forms are written in appropriate legally binding language in accordance with the company requirements.
  • Support user groups through contract drafting and negotiation during the acquisition of goods and services. Participating in meetings with operations teams and vendors to help guide business through appropriate contracting process.
  • Review contracts for multiple business groups prior to their execution ensuring that contracts and contracting processes follow governance processes.
  • Effectively communicate and continually reinforce contracting processes with the business to maximize operational performance and reduce risk. Identify knowledge and ability gaps in the field and define those opportunities for training.
  • Perform ongoing contract management for national contracts including collecting feedback from users of those contracts and engaging with vendors to represent the company's best interests. Identify and document areas for improvement in existing or future contracts.
  • Develop and negotiate on behalf of the company national standardized agreements/templates, collaborating with different departments including Legal & Risk Management.
  • Review, revise and update Procurement resources pertaining to New & Existing Agreements processes determining which materials require French translation
  • Assist with the development of benchmarking strategies on various contract management technologies and aspects of the operations, with a focus of influencing consistency across all business units
  • Manage the implementation and execution of standardized procurement technologies where it relates to contract management.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Action on other Procurement projects and contract related duties as required.
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline, law, paralegal
  • Wellversed in procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal compliance
  • Sound understanding of real estate operations and associated contracting and procurement requirements
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with CLM and Esignature platforms
  • Ability to read and write French is considered an asset.
