Department Overview

  • The TD Equipment Finance team is a Centre of Excellence within Business Banking. Our mandate is to structure equipment financing (leases and loans) for business clients and prospects as an alternative to other conventional bank sources of financing such as term loans.

Job Details

  • Reporting to the Manager, TD Equipment Finance (TDEF), this position leads and oversees activities of a team responsible for documenting and coordinating a variety of standard to complex commercial lease and loan documentation products for equipment financing.
  • This team's functions include coordinating transactions with vendors, customers, account managers, account executive, and credit. It also includes responsibilities such as identifying and complying with credit requirements, as well as to find viable solutions to make deals successful. The members of the team interface directly with internal and external TDEF customers and ensures meeting all security requirements interest in collateral and compliance with company policies. The documentation team acts as liaison between Account Executives and Corporate Legal group.
    Job Requirements
  • The Team Leader will provide training and technical guidance to direct reports and serves as a daily resource for the team and to other departments on transaction structure, documentation, and company policies as well as executing the daily activities of supporting the team as required.
  • Manages the activities and/or operations of loan/lease production, loan servicing team responsible for loan/lease processing, documentation and preclosing/closing tasks.
  • Participates in the formulation and implementation of new and revised systems, policies and guidelines which have significant impact on the unit, department or functional area and oversees implementation of practices to ensure compliance with TDEF, legal, investor, regulatory and/or business policies.
  • Manages team members and is accountable for providing quality customer service to internal/external customers.
  • Coaches, influences, develops and manages team members including decisions relative to performance reviews, terminations, hires, discipline, salary actions, etc.
  • Lead the implementation and facilitation of other projects and business initiatives as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at every interaction and execute on plans to improve the customer experience.
  • Acts as a "player / coach " for their team, meaning this role will be accountable for completing the tasks to support the team where needed.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with internal fulfillment partners in order to maximize efficiency and customer service.
