ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Director reports to the Dean, Faculty of Health.

The Director supervises the Administrative Coordinator, Professional Studies and any personnel contracted for various projects and instructional opportunities offered through the department.


PRIMARY FUNCTION


The Director is responsible for oversight of the Faculty of Health Professional Studies department and provides leadership and coordination for the courses offered.

The Director is responsible for the day-to-day administration and leadership in the planning, directing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating of courses and programming offered by the department to meet the requirements of a variety of external partnerships and agencies.

The Director provides a leadership role in identifying new and innovative programming to address the needs of current and potential external strategic partners.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' of administrative experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working with multiple key parties, including a minimum of 3 years at a management/leadership level preferably within a postsecondary environment.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent organizational, office management and problemsolving abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple financial activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience working with a wide range of constituencies in diverse community environments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external community members.
  • Demonstrated record in developing and implementing successful programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership that is creative, collaborative, inclusive and outcome based.
  • Proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Effective team management and implementation of strategies to enhance service quality, staff productivity and systems efficiency.
  • Ability to travel between campuses is required. Travel in and outside of the lower mainland region may be required.

Salary Information
The compensation range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary (as listed above) for a position.

Approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position.

In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and approximately halfway of the salary range for a job.

Annual salary increases are available through participation in the Administrative Performance Management program
