JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • In collaboration with the Manager, Health and Recovery Services, this role will lead the team's
strategic and operational objectives related to employee wellbeing and supporting our 5-year
strategy to build resilience and agility.

  • Designs, develops, and implements best practice and evidencebased intervention approaches
for health promotion and disease prevention initiatives and ensures integration of programming
into all health and recovery services and processes and other HR programs where appropriate.

  • Manages the daytoday operations and vendor support for the health promotion services and
providers including providers for EFAP, fitness centre management, campaigns, and digital health
resources.

  • Ensures effective program evaluation and reporting measures are in place, supporting effective
and regular quarterly and annual reporting on program utilization and outcomes.

  • Develop and implement communication plans that support the roll out of health promotion
programs and campaigns.

  • Evaluate utilization, progress and effectiveness of health promotion programs, campaigns and
services and make recommendation for evolution of new programs to support changing
landscape.

  • Develop content, curriculum and deliver education and training on issues related to health and
wellbeing (i.e., mental health) and partners with stakeholders in the development and delivery of
targeted mental health training.

  • Build internal advocates/champions and develops strategy for strengthening these networks and
collaborating with other networks (from Health and Wellness Rep network, Employee Resource
Groups, through to the business).

  • Maintains and builds professional networks related to workplace health promotion to stay current
with best practices in the industry and remain knowledgeable of potential opportunities for BC
Hydro.


Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Health Sciences, Public Health, Human
Resources, Disability Management, etc.)

  • A minimum of five years of comprehensive experience specific to workplace wellbeing program
development and management (or an equivalent combination of experience and specialized
education) ideally within an intermediate to large, unionized environment. Experience in providing
these services in a utility industry is an asset.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in developing and delivering workplace mental health programming and training is an
asset.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work with and
influence people at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to think strategically and align programs and services with broader organizational
direction.
