Reporting to the Director, Estates & Trusts, the Development Coordinator provides a variety of functions including administrative support for the department, planning and coordinating the implementation of assigned projects as well as managing data.
The Coordinator works with the Director, Estates & Trusts and Vice President, Development on supporting fundraising activity and staff working on Gift & Estate Planning, while coordinating the implementation of a number of projects.
Key responsibilities for this position will include:
Providing administrative support to Gift & Estate Planning fundraisers
Coordinating and booking internal and external meetings ensuring appropriate arrangements including booking meeting facilities, and ensuring all logistics are carried out for meetings including taking minutes as required
Drafting correspondence and preparing or coordinating the preparation of various reports and briefing documents as required
Entering and maintaining information related to donors, using the Foundation's customer relationship management system, Raiser's Edge
Creating and maintaining a variety of reports and queries on behalf of the department, and ensuring that electronic files/database user manuals are accurate and current.
Providing backup support for basic estate administration tasks
Preparing expense claims forms and verifying monthly credit card and other charges for payment authorization
Qualifications:
Three years recent related experience, preferably in a planned giving and/or fundraising environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience with databases would be advantageous as this role works with a number of specialized software programs and databases (Raiser's Edge, RE NXT, PaperSave)
Core Knowledge + Skills:
Demonstrated strong project coordination and implementation, administrative, organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, when required
Ability to work with a varied group of stakeholders and interact with donors using tact, diplomacy and discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail;
Ability to deliver exceptional service;
Ability to balance changing workload expectations and to work effectively under pressure, with frequent interruptions;
Computer skills:
demonstrated advanced competence in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook) and intermediate experience with Raiser's Edge or another customer relationship management system

Salary Range:
$50,000 - $61,000

4 weeks' vacation plus office closure between Christmas Eve and New Years, as well as half days office closures before each statutory holiday
