Job Overview
The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to and takes direction from the Finance Director.

The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist are to process vendor invoices through computerized general accounting software, generate payables reports, and issue payments.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the daytoday activities of accounts payable deliverables, including but not limited to processing invoices, reconciling statements, and managing vendor relationships
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all invoices, expense reports, and payments
  • Monitor and manage the accounts payable aging report to ensure all payments are made within agreedupon terms
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions, including vendor statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
  • Assist in monthend and yearend closing activities, including preparation of accounts payable accruals and other journal entries
  • Review and analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, process improvements, and costsaving opportunities
  • Provide excellent customer service to vendors and internal customers, addressing inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide support to the accounting team and other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or relation finance function
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing a vendor management
  • Experience with large ERP systems, such as Oracle or SAP is preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact withal levels of the organizations
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
