Who we are:


At IDM Youth Services (IDMYS) we believe that all people have the opportunity to live in a safe, stable, supportive environment.

IDMYS provides all-inclusive care in a residential setting to one of the most vulnerable populations, at-risk youth.

All-inclusive care includes everything from cooking, cleaning, and driving to and from appointments, to administering medications, to offering emotional and behavioural support.

Our team at IDMYS is dedicated to providing superior care and support in everything we do for the youth we serve.


We are currently looking for part-time
Awake Residential Night Workers, On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, to join our amazing team Other days may be available.

Preference for Applicants who are able to work weekends.

The purpose of this position is to monitor and attend to the well being and safety of persons served during the night and maintain a comfortable and clean living environment.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Monitors persons served through the night and attends to any medical and behavioural needs that arise during the night.
  • Follows through on direction regarding specific persons served left by the day staff.
  • Notifies employees of any major problems or emergencies. Responds to emergencies in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Supports persons served with their morning and evening routines at the beginning and end of the shift.
  • Ensures that persons served follow house rules. Monitors curfew regulations and reports to appropriate authorities as required.
  • Administers medications to persons served in accordance with established policy.
  • Ensures that logbooks and other documentation such as charts and incident reports are complete.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage, cleaning and laundry. Performs minor building maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Reports maintenance needs to facilities department as needed.
  • Secures the resource by arming alarms and locking doors and windows.
  • Prepares and assists persons served in breakfast preparation.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a part of a team.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Must be 19 years or older.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID1
  • Driver's license required.

Preferred but not required:


  • Experience working with atrisk youth and/or people who have a mental health diagnosis or experienced trauma.
  • Experience administering and documenting daily medications.
  • Experience working with suicide prevention and selfharm behaviour.
  • Education in a related field (education, psychology, child and youth care, counselling, health).

Compensation, hours, and location:

Compensation starts at $25.05 per hour and requires union membership.
