Payroll and Benefits Administrator

Summary


Reporting to the Controller, this position contributes to a positive employee experience at TerraLink by administering the payroll and benefits function and supports managers by posting jobs through the ADP/Workforce Now portal.


Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including a small US payroll as well as the Canadian hourly and salaried payroll. This includes reviewing timesheets, supporting time and attendance supervisors, and making adjustments to pay as needed.

Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. Ensure that employees understand their benefits and help them with any questions or issues they may have.

Compliance: Ensure that all payroll and benefits processes comply with relevant laws and regulations. This includes staying up-to-date on changes in payroll and benefits laws and making any necessary updates to our processes.

Reporting: Generate reports related to payroll and benefits, such as payroll summaries, benefit enrollment reports, and tax reports. This includes both regular reports and ad-hoc reports as needed.

Other Duties: Perform other payroll and benefits-related duties as needed, such as processing payroll adjustments, reconciling payroll accounts, and assisting with audits.


Requirements:

Education: Business diploma is required and an Accounting diploma preferred.

Experience: At least 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.

Certifications: Payroll Compliance Professional or substantial experience with ADP/Workforce Now, and a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation or substantial experience administering employee benefits programs.

Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information. Experience with payroll software (ADP/Workforce Now) and Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues in other departments.

Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and ability to provide excellent service to our employees.
