About the role

As EMR Project Manager, eHealth, you will be responsible for managing adoption of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and related technologies for First Nations primary care clinics and community health centres.

This position works closely with the eHealth & Virtual Care Innovation Team to build and support stakeholder relationships to successfully implement an EMR solution to 44 + rural and remote First Nations communities throughout BC.

The position will work closely with regional and primary care centres to improve healthcare services between health care providers and patients, to positively impact health outcomes and patient safety.


About you

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Computer Science/Business/Health Informatics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven supervisory and management experience
  • Proven experience in managing large scale health care projects, especially eHealth/Health Informatics projects
  • Proven experience in managing agile projects, hybrid projects and waterfall projects through full project lifecycle
  • Proven experience with commercial, offtheshelf (COTS) systems, custom development, business architecture, and operations.
  • Proven experience in risk management and change management
  • Proven experience in creating project documents, such as project charter and project management plan, including preparation of briefing documents for the senior executives
  • Proven experience in strategic planning
  • Proven experience in RFP, vendor selection, contract management, and vendor management
  • Previous experience in managing business driven or business transformation projects
  • Previous experience in one or more Canadian Healthcare projects
  • Advanced experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) including Visio and SharePoint

Occupational Certification

  • Certificate in Project Management Institute's (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.

Knowledge

  • Depth of knowledge of First Nations traditions and communication protocols.
  • Versed in the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is required
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management methodology and best practices including agile/scrum, waterfall and hybrid
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of health informatics and health information technologies
  • Knowledge of BC and Canadian healthcare system and primary care processes is an asset
  • Knowledge of First Nations healthcare and/or culture is an asset
  • Knowledge of privacy legislations in BC is an asset
