We are currently looking for a
Transportation Analyst for our Head office in Mississauga.


Description:


The Transportation Analyst will be responsible for creating strategies to support the company's goals and building a sound partnership with all divisional business leaders and departments.

His\her success will be based on the achievement of short and long term initiatives in direct relation to improving the overall profitability of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc.

He/ She will monitor industry trends, standards and development tools to ensure transportation cost are aligned with sales. This role will also track product flow from origin to final delivery and recommend improvements to existing operations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist Transportation Manager in the development, negotiation and administration of national programs for specific modes, including small package, LTL, private fleet, dedicated, international, courier, truckload, rail & expedited
  • Establish a sustainable method for the timely processing of carrier invoices which will include accurate monthly accruals by division
  • Challenge Divisions, Branches and the Transportation team to become more strategic in how they process orders and freight invoices
  • Review monthly Freight Activity, Freight Analysis, Claims and Fuel reports for Divisions and Branches that are trending negative to budget and prior year.
  • Work with Divisional Operations Managers and Purchasing Team to identify non compliant vendors / branchs (i.e incorrect carrier selection, not following routing guides, billing errors etc.)
  • Set up monthly meetings/calls with Transportation Manager and each Division to review their non compliant report and corrective action plan
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and share best practices that can be adopted as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) for all business units
  • Work closely with Transportation Manager and Operations Management Team to create and implement a Business Improvement Plan which will enable the creation of standardized processes
  • Examine and challenge concepts to identify and present new opportunities that drive strategic thinking and business improvement.

Qualifications:


  • College or University diploma with minimum of 5 years of progress transportation and logistics experience.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts and exchange complex information and resolve problems. Normal courtesy and tact required.
  • Action Oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong competency in using Microsoft Excel.
Entry level customs experience is an asset.
