Administrative Full-time New Position

The Program Manager is responsible for providing a range of academic and business management functions to support the Chair.

The incumbent leads new program development and provides project management to ongoing initiatives, innovations, and projects within the School College Work Initiative (SCWI), Jill of All TradesTM (JOAT), and Community Outreach.

The Manager promotes high quality program/project delivery and implements student success and retention initiatives. The incumbent also promotes the School through various Public Relations (PR) and digital media marketing initiatives and represents the School within the College and in the greater community


Responsibilities:


Programming Development & Maintenance School College Work Initiative (SCWI)

  • Implements strategies for continuous improvement of the delivery of certificate, diploma, and advanced Diploma/Degree course dual credits
  • Implements strategies for continuous improvement of SCWI programming, including communication of course offerings and information
  • Implements review of dual credit courses to ensure needsbased programming

Management of Support Services

  • Supports and advises instructors on various issues and advises secondary dual credit teachers are adhering to College and SCWI policies and procedures
  • Supports ongoing initiatives and monitors student success strategies in dual credit programming, activities, and community outreach through SCWIcollaboration with secondary school teachers
  • Assists in the monitoring of change cycles, course codes, interim and final reporting for SCWI initiatives
  • Provides support for verifying compliance (reporting, analysis, problem resolution) with provincial SCWI dual credit programming and activities
  • Provides budget support for all initiatives and activities

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides operational training and onboarding to new parttime faculty
  • Maintains a high level of parttime faculty performance through effective recruitment, selection, development, motivation, and evaluation of parttime faculty members
  • Ensures parttime faculty follows College policies, procedures, and best practices in teaching by coordinating the sharing of curriculum between part and Fulltime faculty and confirming that eConestoga course shells of parttime faculty meet College standards
  • Provides onboarding process and operational information to new secondary dual credit teachers

Jill of All Trades (JOAT)

  • Initializes and follows up with financial sponsorship for the North American expansion of JOAT
  • Supports outreach to potential JOAT partner institutions across North America
  • Assists with the North American implementation and deliveries of the Jill of All Trades events

Community Outreach

  • Engages with internal and external partners to help coordinate outreach initiatives
  • Consults with Conestoga Marketing staff and other College Schools to develop opportunities, activities, and events for SCWI (School College Work Initiative) and SHSM (Specialist High Skills Majors)
  • Coordinates programspecific recruitment initiatives that complement the College's corporate marketing efforts and support the SCWI direction

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, Leadership, or related field or Certification of Qualification in any field; Master's Degree is preferred
  • Five years of practical work related experience (e.g., client/customer service)
  • Experience in secondary or postsecondary teaching is an asset
  • Management and/or supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customerfacing processes
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and challenges
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Interpersonal and teambuilding skills to work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, and strong problem solving and conflictresolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly from examples.
  • Highly competent with MS Office Applications, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Digital Media platforms and Portals
  • Curriculum development experience is desirable
