_The opportunity_


Provides management with timely, relevant, and sound analysis allowing them to analyze and measure performance and the company's progress in meeting corporate, financial, and operational objectives.

Provides internal analysis for management decision-making as well as information to be used in explaining results for external reporting purposes (press release, MD&A, Board documentation).

In the role, the Analyst will take part in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting to Executive management


_ The role_

  • Significant involvement in the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process, with a focus on forecasting the consolidated statements of financial position and cash flows, return on net assets (RONA), working capital, net cash position, CAPEX and selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly performance analyses to senior management bridging actual results to forecast, budget and prior year.
  • Analyzes data, summarizes results and presents findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to management.
  • Partners effectively with Business Unit Finance Teams to support forecasting and budget processes.
  • Develops reporting and analysis framework for monitoring performance and KPIs.
  • Develops and maintains external benchmarking analysis of competitors to provide better insight into performance management.
  • Develops and maintains various financial models and standard templates for use by global finance teams to ensure and promote quality, accuracy and focused data and analytical review.
  • Develops and maintains weekly reporting of KPIs to senior management.
  • Participates in ad hoc projects relevant to the Corporate Finance Team

Key Relationships

  • Reports to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Works with all members of the Finance Teams at all levels
  • Liaises with the external accounting firm as required.

_ What you bring to the role_
Knowledge & Expertise

  • Professional Accountant (i.e. CPA
  • CA) with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Motivated accounting professional with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a large publicly reported entity with a global presence is considered an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Works well under pressure and performs under tight deadlines.
  • Focused team player with multitasking abilities who succeeds in fast paced environments.
  • Established time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to efficiently communicate with various Business Units and departments within the organization.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use data query and reporting tools (namely Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Hyperion Financial Planning is considered an asset)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French, Spanish is considered an asset.
  • Positive attitude and high willingness to learn.
