The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough is a vibrant department organized into five areas of study.

In addition to providing students with deep grounding in one or more disciplinary traditions, the Department also fosters research at all levels.

Its commitment to socially engaged, leading edge research and direct engagement with its community is reflected not only through its curriculum but also in the creative and innovative projects undertaken by faculty and often providing research opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.

Your opportunity:


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Proofing and posting adverts to recruit applicants
  • Scheduling study participants
  • Maintaining an inventory of clinic supplies
  • Maintaining information in databases
  • Ordering supplies with approval
  • Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of research experience working with people experiencing psychotic disorders.
  • Experience working in a research lab with general knowledge of research methodology.
  • Experience running and recruiting participants for research purposes for developmental studies.
  • Experience providing direction/orientation to students and research participants.
  • Experience preparing statistical reports and data entry.
  • Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to communicate with participant recruitment and knowledge dissemination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal skills is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize to meet deadlines.

  • Specific course work in developmental psychology, cognitive, and/or social psychology preferred.
