Analyst, Procurement Process and Data position working out of Edmonton, AB.


This is an excellent opportunity for a team-oriented individual with excellent process and data analytical skills to grow their Supply Chain Management career.


The Procurement and Process Data Analyst will also provide support and training on Oracle Purchasing, iProcurement, Business Intelligence, Microsoft SharePoint and Excel, and lead Procurement Continuous Improvement project level meetings.

What you'd be responsible for

productivity, quality, reliability, on-time delivery of products/services) and employee/customer satisfaction through continuous improvement.

  • Maintaining Procurement information systems (Dashboards and Databases)
  • Provide quality analytics and reporting that are concise and userfriendly
  • Lead the processes to create, utilize, and improve tools, techniques, procedures, and reporting to assist in the efficient execution of the Procurement function at EPCOR
  • Use leading edge techniques to provide data mining and analytics support retrieval of Procurement and Spend information from various sources. Categorize and analyze relevant data, processes, and plans to develop recommendations for management to consider and action the approved plans.
  • Provide SharePoint administration and design, build, test, and maintain the Procurement SharePoint sites and related information
  • Work with the Manager, Reporting and Analytics to create and maintain consistent Procurement forms, procedures, standards, templates
  • Provide support in developing, testing, and delivering procurement procedures processes, and training documents/materials
  • Advise and make recommendations to stakeholders with respect to potential procurement risks. Support stakeholders on the requisition to pay (R2P) and source to contract (S2C) processes
  • Lead the entire procurement process starting with identification of need, risk assessment, sourcing strategy, and procurement planning culminating in contract award and execution and support business partners in contract administration in accordance with Procurement Policy, EPCOR Policies, best practices, and external regulatory requirements (i.e. Trade Agreements)
  • Review data collection, categorization, and reporting methods and practices in Procurement to identify gaps in the data being collected and make recommendations and implement improvements
  • Provide timely and responsive customer service to stakeholders, resolving issues and advancing complex concerns as required
  • Create and utilize spreadsheets, analytic tools, statistics, and databases to collect, compare, and analyze data. Prepare reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis to find opportunities and determine feasibility of category management or strategic sourcing tactics towards achieving operational and corporate objectives.
What's required to be successful

  • 2year postsecondary diploma in Supply Chain Management or a business related field or a 4year postsecondary degree in a related field from a recognized educational institute is required
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio, Power BI, SQL, etc.)
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Oracle or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Purchasing Designation (C.P.P certificate, SCMP or C.P.M. or C.P.P.B.) is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entire procurement process starting with
identification of need through to contract execution and management

  • Experience in categorybased buying and negotiating contracts would be considered an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in assisting in negotiating commercial terms and conditions and competitive bidding laws
  • High level of attention to detail required with the ability to analyze large volumes of data
  • Experience in providing and/or facilitating training would be considered an asset
  • Past work experience working in an utility company or large corporation similar to EPCOR is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a multistakeholder and dynamic work environment
  • Adapts to change and focuses on continuous improvement opportunities
