The Continuous Employee Development (CED) Trainer is responsible for delivery of all training provided by the CED Team throughout Toronto Operations.

The overall objective is to provide the client group with the theoretical, analytical, practical and functional knowledge and skills of the processes and systems to perform their job.

The CED Trainer will also assist in the development, creation and revision of existing training documentation as required.


The CED Trainer will work closely with the Training Specialists and Team Lead to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are incorporated into the training materials.

The CED Trainer will provide leadership in the continuous development of training modules around our learning strategies to capture process improvement gains.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver education / training and work with the DT teams on presentation skills so they are able to effectively deliver education training modules
  • Participate in Train the Trainer (TTT) sessions as part of required training delivery plan and implementation as requested
  • Participate in the design of education / training plans including training methods, media and a project plan for development
  • Assist in developing education training materials including participant and facilitator guides according to accepted standards
  • Conduct thorough course evaluations
  • Schedule and conduct building tours as required
  • Evaluate and validate the education / training material content
  • Review, analyze and make recommendations for improvement of existing training programs
  • Work with other CED Team members (Trainers/Specialists) to effectively schedule trainers and participants into courses based on the pending training requirements
  • Support/assist daily production operations with daily ad hoc issues such as Infolink, EDMS etc.
  • Support other Supply Chain initiatives by reviewing training materials, and offering suggestions for improvement
  • Keep current with industry standards and technologies for training and instructional design
  • Provide support for daily production operations as well as ad hoc requests for support
  • Provide coverage and able to travel between facilities
  • Flexibility required to support a multishift operation

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education would be an asset to this role
  • Certificate in Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, Adult Education or related field
  • Must have experience with Powered Equipment Training
  • Certified Designated Trainer
  • Possess a professional certification (eg. CTP), or Lean principals
  • Experience in the delivery, and evaluation of training
  • DCCS and distribution systems knowledge is an asset
