Position Overview


The Security Technician is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute their experience and expertise in the area of service and installation of Alarm Intrusion, Access Control and CCTV Systems.

The Security Technician is a team player and a vital member of Classic Fire + Life Safety Team. Organization and accuracy are key factors with respect to correspondence, and paperwork.


Task and Responsibilities:


  • Perform service and installation work on various intrusion, access control and video systems.
  • Perform routine inspections of intrusion and fire monitoring systems
  • Work with aerial lifts, ladders and hand tools
  • Install cabling and conduit in commercial/industrial buildings
  • Prepare concise and timely work orders while on site
  • Prepare weekly time sheets and submit for payroll
  • Required to be on the On-Call after hours rotation
  • Keep company vehicle organized and properly stocked with supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:


  • 13 years experience as an installation and service technician
  • Understanding of data networks and networkbased systems an asset
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills an asset
  • Knowledge of the fire alarm and sprinkler industry an asset
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
