This position is responsible for the financial performance of their assigned projects with the preparation, execution, and close out of each project.


The Job

Title:
Project Manager


PM Duties Include:


Responsibilities

  • Set, monitor and control project measurables
  • Scope, Budget, Schedule, and Quality.
  • Oversee current and future workload and update interested parties with changes to start and completion dates.
  • Participates in applicable project review and passover with the Pre-Construction team.


  • Contracts

  • Letter of intent, Scope of work, supplementary conditions, and appendix.


  • Drawings

  • Staging plan, details/specs, and changes.


  • Preliminary Schedule

  • Execution plan for the project.
  • Manage submittals and purchase orders.
  • Manage client expectations with outstanding customer service.
  • Coordinate inoffice and onsite project passover meetings with the project Foreperson.
  • Assist Foreperson as required with onsite crew direction, problem solving, and reporting.
  • Monitor onsite performance of Foreperson and Crew
  • Document, track and oversee all change management within each project.
  • Conduct progress billing monthly and notify interested parties while maintaining records as required
  • Monitor revenues, costs, and labour hours for assigned projects to ensure targets are met.
  • Complete project wrap ups and passovers to Services as required.

Hours of Work:

Our office team works Monday to Friday during the office hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. Flexibility on hours based on job requirements is a must. The average working week is based on 40 hours.


Compensation:

The compensation range for this position is $85,000-120,000 annually. Wages are set based on experience and qualifications.


3 weeks of annual paid vacation time and 1 week of annual paid personal leave is provided for this position.

Employee is also eligible for benefits after their probation period.


Qualifications:


Education

  • Postsecondary education with a focus in Project Management or construction management
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Industry and position experience equivalent accepted on an individual basis

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' industry experience in light civil/landscape construction/concrete work.
  • Commercial offsite packages and small multifamily projects (start to finish)
  • Clearing/Demo, Excavation, install of services (conduit, piping, manholes and hydrants), sub grade prep for roads/sidewalks/foundations, backfill.
  • Landscape and concrete experience a recognized asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a project foreperson or coordinator role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people in a variety of circumstances and from various backgrounds.
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft office suite and MS Project, Adobe PDF)
  • Plan, prioritize and coordinate, multitask and complete work assignments within prescribed deadlines
  • Ability read technical reports, construction documents and technical knowledge of industry components and their function
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures
