Full time Cook required to join our team located at Viola Desmond PS (Maple, ON).


Starting Pay:
$ $20.28 /hour, plus full-time benefit package (including dental, health and travel insurance), 10 paid personal days plus paid vacation time.

The cook is responsible for duties relating to the purchasing, preparation and serving of snacks and meals. The cook is responsible for general cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping. The position includes administration tasks such as daily logs and records. The cook may assist with supervision of the children when deemed necessary and appropriate.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A recent Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Health assessment and uptodate record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Uptodate certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training available upon selection if required).
  • Food Handler Certification (paid certification available upon section if required).
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.
  • Experience in food preparation and serving.
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances and laundry equipment.
  • Prior experience working with children an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canada's Food Guide.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.
