Your role at Clorox:


As member of the Canadian sales' organization, the Account Manager will have a significant impact on the business by influencing their assigned customer base to build their business through profitable AAA (assortment, availability and activation) recommended actions on the applicable brands.


Accountable for the day to day management of the Walmart relationship and select brand portfolios of Clorox, the Account Manager is accountable to deliver the customer specific targets (NSC, Trade, MSC) and strategic deliverables that ladder up to support Clorox's overall financial, and MarketShare objectives.


In this role, you will:
Deliver the NSC, Trade and MSC targets set per fiscal year through the framework tools:

  • Exceptional management AAA guidelines for Walmart
  • Utilization of data that deliver insights to influence customer category strategy and decision making
  • Develop and document annual customer review and priorities for a complete understanding of customers through the norms and rhythms of the annual business process timelines and deliverables(monthly, quarterly, annual, adhoc)
  • Build Walmart relationships that enhance alignment and accountability to joint Business Plans and proactive planning and negotiations that achieve to overdeliver targets.
  • Proactive management to keeping plans updated, accurate and within the target framework with the ability to effectively communicate changes, and actions required to land the plans and targets. Own the business plans for Walmart that are aligned with Clorox priorities and strategies and planning timelines on time and in full
  • Execute plans maximizing volume and profit growth for both Clorox and Walmart
  • Owns the relationship of the customer at the appropriate level within Walmart, including regular Stewardship Connects
  • Deliver on sales objectives, promotional opportunities and merchandising plans utilizing effective trade fund management.
  • Owns the TPM system by keeping forecasts, trade events and plans are updated regularly and within the target framework assigned.
  • Complete regular business reviews using available data and customer insights.
  • Owns the customer negotiations at the aligned account level and within the accountabilities of the target framework and strategies.

What we look for:

Years and Type of Experience:

  • Minimum 35 years preferred in CPG sales
  • Sales experience in dealing directly with Grocery / Mass retailers in a sales function role. Walmart account experience an asset
  • Fundamental understanding of forecasting, trade spend management and implementation
  • Strong demonstrated abilities in the interpretation and extraction of ACNielsen data
  • Retail Link data
  • Customer POS data
  • Expert computer skills (Microsoft office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and trade spend management tools)
  • Retail Link knowledge an asset
  • Strong time management skills
  • Solid retailer/industry knowledge

Education Level/Degree:

  • University Degree or equivalent work experience with completion of postsecondary education
