    An exciting opportunity awaits for a Senior Leasing Law Clerk within our Legal Department based in Toronto. This role involves drafting and negotiating agreements primarily focused on commercial leasing, supporting the growth objectives of McDonald's Canada by collaborating with various internal teams to expand restaurant locations nationwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with McDonald's Restaurant Development and Asset Management teams to prepare, draft, and negotiate commercial leases, license agreements, and property contracts nationwide
    • Offer insights on title, zoning, construction, and other due diligence aspects
    • Assist legal professionals and law clerks in the department, overseeing external legal counsel throughout Canada
    • Identify and implement operational enhancements within the Legal team and broader business functions
    • Develop document templates, enhancing existing resources in the Legal Department

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in negotiating complex commercial leases, real estate agreements, and related legal documents
    • Paralegal license, law clerk designation, or similar education is advantageous
    • Prior background at a law firm or large corporation's legal department is a plus
    • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to diverse business initiatives
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, essential for cross-functional teamwork
    • Demonstrated work ethic, capable of multitasking in a high-paced environment
