What can I expect to do in this role?: Working across the Strategic Human Resources Business Branch sections: People & Culture (P&C), Corporate Initiatives and Programs (CIP), Business Support & Workforce Planning (BSWP), and Strategic Operations to provide strategic human resources support to ministry senior management by assisting with the:

  • Design, delivery and promotion of organizational culture programs and initiatives related to anti-racism, equity, accessibility, diversity, inclusion, employee recognition and engagement.
  • Design and delivery of ministrywide leadership development and talent management programs.
  • Design and delivery of ministrywide youth programs and health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
  • Management of workforce planning and HR systems administration for the ministry.
  • Provision of labour relations support.
  • Support of the ministry Ethics Executive with Conflict of Interest or disclosure of wrongdoing investigations.

How do I qualify?:


Technical Expertise:


  • Ability to interpret legislation such as the Ontario Human Right's Code (OHRC), the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, collective agreements, and policies related to learning and development, performance management and antiracism, respectful, accessible, diverse, and inclusive workplaces.
  • Knowledge of human resource management to help analyze workforce data, to assist in the design and delivery of youth and leadership programming, and to assist in providing labour relations support.

Analytical and Communication Skills:


  • Research and analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends and analyze/compare program data within the ministry and across jurisdictions.
  • Communication and presentation skills to prepare reports, help facilitate sessions and interact with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Team building and collaborative skills to work with teammates and ministrywide teams.

Project Management Skills:


  • Project management skills to assist with the coordination of various initiatives, projects, and issues.

Eligibility:


  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a degree, postgraduate certificate or diploma within the last four years
  • Are not a permanent employee in the OPS
