The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Second Cook.

Do you have a passion for fine cuisine, a desire to expand your culinary mind and want to provide an exceptional guest experience? If your answer is "Yes", we would like to meet you.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the preparation of all food items for the hotel's Food and Beverage Outlets, including Essence of Unionville, Absolute Lounge, Room Service, Banquets and Catering Facilities in predetermined quantity as per instructions received from Chef or Sous Chef.
Adheres to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
Performs basic food preparation cooks, cuts, cleans, peels, and cleans food items
Sets up breakfast and themed buffets ensuring items are always replenished
Ensures all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel Food Safety guidelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Postsecondary diploma in Culinary Management
Red Seal Certification
Food Safe Certification

years of cooking experience

Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment with mínimal supervision.
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
Ability to assist in other areas of the kitchen when required.
Appearance must be neat, clean and well groomed as per Hilton's standards.
Good command of the English language.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
Physical Demands: Excessive standing, walking, lifting and bending.
