POSITION:
- Patient Scheduling Clerk

NONU $23.24/hr $27.88/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, schedule, file and coordinate all booking requests for designated Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiopulmonary / EEG procedures
- Communicate professionally and effectively to all patients, physicians, offices and other clerical support areas the date and time of the appointment as well as the patient preparation
- Prepare utilization statistics, schedules when necessary
- Act as communication liaison between patients, nursing staff, service departments and the DI Cardio department teams
- Take direction from the Patient Scheduling Team Leader and liaise with Senior Technologists, key physicians and Directors of DI and cardiopulmonary
- Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation and respect
REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 education combined with related hospital experience and/or a Ward/Unit Clerk Certificate from a community college
- Accurate keyboarding with a minimum of 50 wpm is essential
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Meditech
- Medical terminology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision, individually and as a member of a team and be customer focused
- Ability to cope effectively with multiple demands and stressful work environment
PREFERRED:
- Previous DI Patient Scheduling experience
