Applicants should demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Dedication to the organization's mission: "To reduce the impact of crime and its causes by providing a spectrum of effective prevention and intervention programs."
JHS Durham delivers over 25 different programs to youth and adults and individuals and families across Durham Region. We provide programming in the areas of housing, employment, and community and justice services.

The volunteer Board oversees and assists the Executive Director and commit to attending six evening in-person board meetings (virtual options also available) per year in addition to:


  • Serving on one or more committees of the board as needed
  • Represent the organization to their respective communities
  • Advocate our mission, vision and core values and programs and services as appropriate
