This is an exciting time and a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST (Field Operations)Job Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responds to human resourcesrelated inquiries as first point of contact for field teams.
- Collaborates with field operations and human resources teams to develop, execute and maintain effective recruitment strategies and appropriate metrics including future staffing needs and trends
- Interacts with operations managers and employees in order to proactively and reactive address human resourcesrelated matters
- Provides personnel policy and procedure guidance to operations managers and employees and helps ensure compliance
- Provides guidance to operations managers on employee coaching, discipline and terminations of basic to moderate complexity, elevating to senior leadership as directed
- Prioritizes complaints regarding of workplace harassment and assists in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions, elevating such complaints as required
- Assists with the timely collection and presentation of facts and supporting documentation associated with legislative and legal challenges brought against ONroute
- Assists with benefits and payroll enrolments, changes, processing and discrepancies in partnership with thirdparty providers
- Assists with attendance management including occupational and nonoccupational related absences in partnership with operations managers, thirdparty providers and government agencies
- Maintains talent management, development, performance appraisal and other employee lifecycle processes
- Monitors employee morale and company culture and reports on findings
- Timely and accurately maintains employee personnel records (HRIS)
- Proactively maintains uptodate knowledge of provincial employment law and compliance requirements
- Proactively maintains uptodate knowledge of business operations, SOPs, workforce management trends and provides input on workflow and process improvements
- Assists with employee surveys, analysis, action planning and execution
- Actively participates in field, team and company meetings and events
- Assists with creation and delivery of SOPs, training programs, policy changes, and communications
- Performs general administrative functions and other needed duties as required by the business
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
- College or university degree in human resources or related discipline
- 24 years of human resources generalist experience, preferably in a multiunit restaurant or retail environment
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates and confidently engage in difficult conversations
- Requires leadership and selfmotivating work skills to be part of a diverse work team under mínimal supervision
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple work projects and priorities as well as work effectively in HR, Operations and crossfunctional work teams
- Ability to support and respond to the needs of a 24hour day, 7 day per week work environment that may require occasional evenings and weekend support on limited notice
- Passion for the industry and the people and customers that drive it
- CHRP or CHRL designation are considered asset
- Computer literate (e.g. MS Office, HRIS) with proven ability to prepare documents, spreadsheets and presentations
- Ability to set up a suitable home office work environment to perform telecommuting work as required
- Must have a reliable and accessible vehicle for all driving season and conditions and a valid driver license is good standing to travel to ONroute plazas, the Resource Centre and attend company
- Meetings and other functions across Ontario, as required.
