Intertek is looking for a
Casual Part Time Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector to join our Technical Inspection Services (TIS) team in Edmonton, AB Canada.

The
Casual Part Time Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector **is responsible for performing quality surveillance and inspections at vendor/suppliers and their sub-contractors.

This role will promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business.

What you'll do:

Witness and monitor suppliers / contractors work activities, inspection and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures etc.
Witness / Participate material Receiving Inspection at construction site to identify damage or deficiencies.
Assist in the review of Supplier's/Contractor's Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication / construction work.
Conduct vendor surveillance inspections at vendor site.
Have knowledge of Positive Material Identification (PMI). Using alloy analyzers (e.g. either Xray tube or isotope base). Able to interpret if correct or rogue material.
Familiar with steel/alloy making processes, hot working/forging, heat treating, inprocess testing (mechanical, metallurgical), inspection (including NDE) and material test report review.
Have knowledge of electromagnetic inspection (EMI). Able to interpret graphic results, along with associated proveup of imperfections.
Witness inprocess inspections per ITP and Inspection Requests to ensure work proceeds in accordance to specifications, the approved drawings and procedures.
Have knowledge of visual testing (VT). This includes manual and automatic computerized methods. Able to interpret results, along with associated proveup of imperfections.

CSA, CEC, IEEE

What it takes to be successful in this role:

Red Seal Journeyman, Safety Codes Officer Electrical Groups A & B or Construction Safety Training System
Electrical inspector with 10 years of experience
Have knowledge of industrial codes (NEC, CEC, CSA, IEC, UL, NFPA, ISO 9001, API, and etc).
Able to read and understand Drawings
Understand Project Completion System and able to use it
Able to issue and follow up Non-Conformance Reports
Able to review Supplier's/Contractor's ITPs and Quality Procedures
Able to review and interpret quality records and determine associated compliance with requirements (Performance data, test record, inspection record, MTR and other quality data and documents)
Familiar with regulatory requirement (DOT, USCG, NMA, CSA, and etc.)
