- Develop, manage, and administer Health and Safety Program in collaboration with the Health and Safety department
- Communicate essential safety information to all staff
- Identify safety training needs, make recommendations to Safety Committees, and organize required training sessions
- Conduct safety training and internal audits
- Assist with hazard assessments and COR Certification requirements
- Maintain WHMIS program and ensure staff training is up to date
- Contribute to creating a secure environment for student learning
- Support emergency preparedness planning
- Assist in WSIB case management and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Review health and safety policies and procedures
- Stay updated on health and safety regulations and changes
- Provide health and safety information to employees
- Maintain professional competence
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Operation Leadership Team and Regional HSEQ
- Prioritize safety and execute tasks accurately and efficiently
- Be prepared to handle emergency situations
- Complete tasks within company standards
- Incorporate corporate HSE values into daily activities
- Promote a safe work environment through personal commitment to safety
- Effectively communicate HSE requirements to employees and clients
- Implement occupational safety and health best practices
- Understand OSHA and environmental regulations
- Provide training using various methods
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Communicate clearly with individuals and groups
- Operate a computer proficiently
- Act appropriately in emergencies
- Pay attention to detail
- Pass required checks and screenings
- Post-Secondary education in Health & Safety or Human Resources
- 1+ years of related work experience or COOP terms in HSEQ
- Working towards NCSO certification
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Physical fitness to navigate various terrains and lift weight
- Ability to work in different environments
- Wear required protective equipment
- Make informed decisions in challenging surroundings
