DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Read work orders and production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, location/direction of bend lines and dimensions and tolerances.
Load work pieces and material into machines.
Set up, operate or tend machines to bend or straighten metal material.
Start machines, monitor their operations and record operational data.
Test/adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
Install, align and lock specified punches, dies or other fixtures.
Position, align and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates or rulers.
Examine completed work pieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
Clean and lubricate machines.
Demonstrate initiative in taking corrective actions.
Ability to work shifts and overtime when requested.
Operate equipment in a safe manner, use safe work habits and wear PPE.
Physically fit and able to lift light to moderate weights.
Watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Must be willing and flexible to rotate to various tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Must be an excellent team player.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and exercise independent judgment.
Ability to program components into computerized HMI screens.
Excellent oral communication skills in the English language.
Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fastpaced environment.
Very reliable, responsible, flexible and organized.
Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or holding arm and hand in one position.
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Quality awareness combined with speed.
