Full-Time, Contract (up to 9 months)

As a valued member of our Medical Services Team, the Program Support assists to support the administrative functions of our programs, in a manner consistent with providing a welcoming and psychosocial environment to individuals accessing programs, including participants, community partners, and the public.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

What you'll be making - $19.86 to $22.88 per hour, rate based on proof of comparable, previous experience

When you'll work:

  • 70 hours over twoweek period; Monday to Friday, 8:30am4:30pm; occasionally may be required to work outside of those hours.

HOW YOU'LL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

  • Responding to in-person and phone referrals for service related to clinics
  • Working collaboratively with referral sources and individualsserved to ensure a smooth transition to services
  • Providing information and support regarding resources found within both the broader mental health system and the community in general
  • Establishing a therapeutic relationship to maximize the benefits of engagement between the staff person and the client
  • Ensuring the effective flow of relevant information between coworkers as well as to individualsserved and site visitors (including messages, service information, organizational and sitespecific information)
  • Creating new client files and maintain the discharged file system
  • Filing clinical documentation into client paper health record
  • Scanning clinical information into the client health record
  • Organizing diagnostic appointments with clients
  • Validating health card numbers
  • Appointment reminder calls to clients
  • Photocopying and filing clinical information
  • Faxing prescriptions to pharmacies
  • Working collaboratively with clinical team and physicians
  • Handling the purchasing and inventory of office supplies and some maintenance products
  • Assisting with scheduling for the program
  • Providing assistance to staff with regard to the use of office technology such as computers and database functions while liaising with IT personnel
  • Maintaining accurate files and ensuring that paperwork is completed for other areas within the organization
  • Providing support to Clinical staff with regard to equipment and supply needs
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities consistent with role

_ We require the following qualifications:_

  • Postsecondary education or equivalent work experience
    (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e.

original degree/diploma or official transcript):


  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive working knowledge of MS Office Professional and strong computer skills
  • Able to liaise with other departments, staff and committees
  • Valid driver's license and occasional access to a vehicle
  • Ability to attend work regularly

_ We prefer the following qualifications:_

  • 12 years' experience in notfor profit agencies
  • Knowledge of mental illness, addiction, and cooccurring complex issues
