Successful external applicants will be eligible to receive a one-time Signing Bonus of $7,000 and relocation allowance of $5,000. In turn, a Return of Service will be required for a period of 24 months.

The Opportunity:

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours days.

Your Qualifications:

D/PsyD Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program.

Completion of an APA or CPA Accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
Currently registered, or eligible to be registered, with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
Minimum five (5) years of formal training and clinical experience in child/adolescent mental health; at least two years clinical experience as a PhD/DPsych prepared Psychologist.
Demonstrated experience and skills in assessment and treatment of youth and families where a young person is struggling with mental health and/or addictions issues. A particular skill set in working with disruptive behaviours is an asset.
Demonstrated proficiency in providing both family and individual therapy.
Recent experience in providing clinical supervision to staff/team preferred as well as demonstrated ability to consult with both other professionals.
Theoretical knowledge and practice competency in a family systems approach preferred. Knowledge and experience in the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy model an asset.
Demonstrated excellence in communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated excellent time management, workload prioritization, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interprofessional care team, while effectively carrying out administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care preferred.
NCI Certification required.
Understanding of, and commitment to, evidence informed practice/best practice.
Ability to participate in the clinical training activities of the Psychology Discipline.
Competencies in other languages an asset.
