The Home is a 90-bed LTC Home with 40 Independent Living Apartments, smoke free, facility with beautiful courtyard gardens accessible to all residents and their families.

- As a Maintenance Worker you will be performing a number of tasks in the following areas:
- Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting and repairs
- Some of those tasks are as follows:
- Repairing/troubleshoot locks, door hardware, door openers, electric hardware, etc.
- Wall repair, plastering, painting, constructing/repairing furniture, etc.
- Repairing/replacing sinks, taps, hoses, etc.
- Repairing/replacing plugs, switches, troubleshooting electrical appliances, beds, call bells, fire alarm system, etc...
- Repairing/troubleshooting HVAC systems, rooftop units, exhaust fans, etc.
- Check functionality and log of all safety systems, such as Fire Alarm, suppression systems, fire blankets, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Repair/troubleshoot Laundry equipment, Dietary and Nursing equipment
- Perform Preventative Maintenance to all building equipment as per schedule
- Attention to detail is required
- Collaborate with other workers/dept. and contractors
- Report to the Maintenance Coordinator any issues/concerns
- Adhere to established company policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, health and safety, infection control, emergency preparedness and all other applicable policies and procedures
- Cooperates with other departments in such tasks as transferring residents, moving and storing supplies furniture and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be available for call ins on short notice
- Clear vulnerable sector police check
- Negative 2 step TB test
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, and lift (60lbs.) for long periods of time
- Ability to read, write and understand English and willingness to follow instruction
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and Best Practices an asset
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices an asset
- Long term care Home experience an asset
- Attention to detail is required
- Those with a trade certification or license will be given preference
Salary:
$21.00-$23.00 per hour
