Sidebar Grill:


We are a brand-new restaurant, seeking a head chef who is willing to create a fun atmosphere with an emphasis on outstanding food quality and teamwork.

Sidebar Grill offers a delicious menu of house-made steaks, burgers, salads and soups.

Creative, confident and has strong leadership qualities.

They will be responsible for setting the tone for the Heart of House and creating an environment that makes it enjoyable to come to work.

They will work closely with General Manager and Owner.

This position requires you to hire and train staff that fit your vision for the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Duties:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the kitchen
Monitor all food going out to ensure it is of the highest quality and food safety
Maintain food and beverage standards using standardized food recipes and safe food-handling practices
Optimize the profitability levels through consistent monitoring of inventory levels, food cost controls
Prepare weekly schedules, ensuring productivity levels are maximized
Responsible for maintaining staffing levels through proactive recruiting
Hire, incentivize, and retain quality staff
Provide quality training to ensure we have a well-run kitchen
Create a culture of development and retention
Participate in the weekly operational meetings
Ensure all municipal and provincial laws regarding hygiene and security are respected
Ensuring that all colleagues adhere to all health and safety requirements
Personally respond to food-related feedback and ensure proper processes and reports are produced.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in good working order and is properly maintained
Show leadership by providing integrity, work ethic and open communication
Experiment with new recipes and suggest new menu options that align with guest tastes and restaurant trends
Order supplies
Maintaining open communication with the GM and Owners, fostering a positive work environment
Development and implementation of long-term direction for our restaurant


Flexible work hours:
Must be able to work during revenue periods until staff are trained to take over those shifts as needed

$55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
