This position is located at our sales and service dealership in Delta, BC.


THE OPPORTUNITY


The Parts Apprentice will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in obtaining required parts and supplies under the supervision of a qualified parts journeyperson while fulfilling the education and training requirements of the apprenticeship.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote sale of parts and accessories to all customers: walkin, telephone or internal technicians
  • Achieves maximum customer satisfaction with superior customer service at all times to current and potential customers
  • Keeps abreast of all new products and updates, continually upgrades training
  • Safeguards company equipment at all times
  • Procures all parts required by customers or technicians as requested
  • Registers all lost sales to aid in further development of inventory breadth
  • Prepares parts invoices and credit notes for all counter sales and issues (charges) parts for all work orders
  • Assists when required to maintain stock levels and in the shipping and receiving of parts
  • Assists Outside Parts Sales Representative in fulfilling customers' requirements
  • Maintains a clean and dustfree display and warehouse area as designated by management
  • Updates parts related information on a regular basis and maintains files as required
  • Operates a computer terminal to carry out day to day functions and requirements
  • Conducts perpetual inventory cycle counts
  • Performs other duties and assignments as assigned by supervisor
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Becomes familiar with and complies with the company's Health & Safety Manual

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Computer skills and experience preferred
  • Must be willing to attend Apprenticeship Training (travel may be required) for a period of 3 weeks per year while working towards the Parts Person Certificate of Qualification.
  • Working towards Parts Person Certificate of Qualification
  • Valid standard Driver's Licence
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to become forklift certified
  • Good interpersonal/customer relations skills
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts, possibly including weekends
