Summary:
The Team Lead, Logistics position is responsible for supervising daily backroom/warehouse activities including
providing leadership, training and guidance to the Order Fulfillment Team. The role works alongside backroom
associates handling all aspects of the order fulfilment process.
Responsibilities include the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, through various systems and
provisioning processes, shipping and receiving, daily monitoring of SLA's, order volumes, quality assurance,
training, coaching and escalations for complex issues. They lead by example and drive effective planning,
workflow organization, teamwork, problem solving and decision making. This role is based in Toronto and
reports to the Manager, Production & Logistics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring and ownership of customer orders placed through various systems including 3rd party platforms.
  • Ensures that product is received, orders are filled and shipped to customers in a timely manner.
  • Daily monitoring and ownership of all movements within various warehouses and 3PL facilities including, receiving,
inventory transfers, kitting requirements and accurate outbound order fulfillment.

  • Conducts daily startup meetings; organizes daily assignments/workload to associates and assigns duties
accordingly. Establishes or adjusts work assignments to meet daily requirements.

  • Trains associates in the proper execution of standard operating procedures (SOP's). Implements and ensures they
are followed, verifies the accuracy and completeness of all activities within the work group.

  • Monitors onhand, inbound, and sales inventory levels, to ensure order dates can be met.
  • QA monitoring of associates, including training, coaching, job shadowing.
  • Coach associates towards S.M.A.R.T. goals and objectives as set by the Manager, Logistics and Production.
  • Participates in the selection of new associates; implements departmental training and job rotation activities;
initiates plan to motivate associates; administers the quarterly/annual performance review management process.

  • Promotes a positive, inclusive work environment through effectively communicating and interpreting company
policies, responding to general inquiries, analyzing and resolving work problems in a timely manner.

  • Manages internal resource documents relating to job aids, SOPs, departmental reports and communications.
  • Analyze daytoday activities in search of process or system improvement with the objective of driving improved
productivity, efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties/tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, distribution or order fulfillment environment.
  • Proven leadership experience. Ability to lead by example, coach, train, and support associates.
  • Exceptionally skilled critical thinker with strong analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Selfmotivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize activities and meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (business telephone and written etiquette).
  • Able to manage internal and external conflicting requirements in a time sensitive environment, while maintaining a
positive attitude.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EDI. Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • A Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Technology, or equivalent field.

Nice to Have:

  • Aptitude / understanding of wireless voice, data, and messaging technology beneficial
  • Understanding and certification with shipping and receiving dangerous goods
