The System Support Specialist & Special Projects will manage the development of online course content for various Executive Programs.
The incumbent will identify courses and faculty members that lend themselves to online delivery and encourages exploration of the medium.
The position will also supports instructors with the development of their courses as they convert, either fully or in-part from traditional classroom delivery to online delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Probing for information from endusers to identify problems and establish needs (relating to the use of educational technology to support teaching and learning
- Conducting needs assessments to determine enduser technical requirements (e.g. determining if Faculty member's exam should be loaded using an assignment or quiz tool)
- Planning and developing educational programs and courses independently
- Researching, analyzing and recommending potential changes to system features (as part of a managed review process)
- Analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements
- Researching, analyzing and recommending potential changes to system features
- Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities; evaluating learning outcomes for program development
- **Essential Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating technologymediated courses/programs for adult learners, in an academic/continuing education, professional development and/or learning and development context
- Experience in technicallyoriented computer support position, preferably in a large networked environment.
- Experience in online and elearning course design, development and delivery
- Experience in direct program delivery in an academic setting
- Experience with instructional design, in order to create effective and clear training Materials and presentations
- Experience delivering effective training sessions and workshops using audiovisual communication and presentation technology (e.g. conference phones, videoconferencing units to projectors, wireless presenters, and Smart Boards)
- Proven work experience in building and supporting synchronous, asynchronous or blended learning courses using Blackboard, Canvas or other learning management systems and related software/communication platforms or other comparable learning
- Experience in designing, implementing and supporting faculty in managing online webinars using platforms like Zoom, Blackboard Collaborate or Microsoft Teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Abode Creative Suite and Google Docs
- Exceptional customer service with strong relationship management skills
- Ability to execute project plans and maintain production schedules, and provide input to the development and refinements of operational and administrative guidelines, procedures and policies to support process improvement
- Ability to remain uptodate on developments in digital learning
- Exceptional customer service with strong relationship management skills
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop good working relations among staff, clients and peers
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, highly accountable team environment with multiple projects moving forward simultaneously and able to work both within a team and independently.
