Key Responsibilities:


  • Planning, implementing, and executing a daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedule of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels for maintenance, laundry and housekeeping departments.
  • Identifying and investigating residence deficiencies and equipment malfunctions and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Coordinating building, landscaping, electrical, plumbing and equipment repair services.
  • Performing minor building, landscaping, electrical, painting, plumbing and equipment repairs to when required Conducts regular reviews of the entire building and reports findings to supervisor.
  • Ensuring resident rooms/units are prepared for occupancy Understands and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in operational decision making with the leadership team,
  • Performing winter related safety activities, including salting residence grounds, monitoring and preventing falling ice and snow, and ensuring grates and drains are fee of ice and debris to allow water melt to flow.
  • Supervising external contractors while onsite.
  • Acting as manager on duty on the weekend as scheduled.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • Experience as a maintenance worker.
  • Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and equipment maintenance.
  • Certificate from a program in general maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
