Position Summary
Our operations team is hiring an H2S Safety Supervisor that will be integral to our business and the growth of the company.
The objective of this role is to support operating companies with the implementation of their occupational health and safety standards as well as industry recommended practices.
We're looking for someone who enjoys physical work, works well in a team environment and is detail oriented. You possess strong communication skills and are able to remain calm when difficult situations arise.This role requires travel, so you must be comfortable with being away from home for extended periods of time in a camp or hotel.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes and controls required activities with onsite client representatives for drilling, well servicing, industrial locations, and possibly plant turnarounds
- Operates and ensures function, operational readiness of various equipment and testing systems to ensure response quality
- Conducts drills, rescues, inspections and tests, site hazard assessments and safety meetings onsite
- Installs and dismantles various safety equipment, including loading and transporting equipment to the worksite; strategically placing required equipment for rapid response including air trailers, lines, manifolds, breathing apparatuses, gas detection systems, barriers, signs and briefing areas
Requirements:
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (No GDLs) and clean driver's abstract
- Possess current H2S Alive, CSO, 2Day Standard First Aid safety tickets
- Pass preemployment drug and alcohol testing
- Able to successfully complete specialized paid training by United Safety
