We are looking to add to our HSE team with an individual who will assist the HSE Manager in achieving safety excellence, to ensure that compliance information is monitored, reported, and retained in the appropriate manner.

You will have an important role in working with all the AFD branches, the transportation department, and the tanks department.

This role will also work with external partners and our customers.

What you will do day to day

:


  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal transportation regulations, including hours of service, driver qualification, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the HSE Manager, as well as the operating teams.
  • Maintain awareness of amendments to the National Safety Code (NSC) Standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and make recommendations for their implementation.
  • Develop specialized knowledge of NSC & DOT regulations, legislation, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits, as well as followup action plans.
  • Improve compliance procedures and processes while working closely with the HSE Manager and the operation teams.
  • Ensure that standards are being met as defined by policy.
  • Monitor AFD In-Vehicle programs.
  • Maintain data base for all units to record and track CVIP, registration, permits, preventative maintenance tracking, and tanks inspections.
  • Maintain records related to transportation and compliance, including driver records, vehicle maintenance records, and other compliancerelated documentation.
  • Improve compliance procedures and processes while working closely with the HSE Manager, Transport Manager, and the operations teams.
  • Audit hour of Service
  • Audit tank inspections
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.

OTHER KEY SKILLS (or product knowledge)

:


  • Experience managing driver logs and ensuring compliance with hoursofservice regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal transportation regulations, including hours of service, driver qualification, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software.

EXPERIENCE*:


  • 3+ years of experience in transportation compliance or related field
  • Experience working in a professional environment.

EDUCATION

:


  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and US transportation regulations including Driver Hours of Service, Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • Certified Transportation Safety Professional considered an asset.
