What you offer?

The YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region's Camp Otonabee provides an opportunity for children and youth to engage in outdoor activities, discover nature and enjoy the natural environment, build self-confidence and establish lasting friendships.

Campers aged 4 to 16 can experience canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, horseback-riding and more.

The Kitchen Staff will function as a team member responsible for overseeing the function of the kitchen, ensuring that meals are delivered to campers and staff in a timely fashion.

The Kitchen Staff must be courteous and professional in dealing with campers, staff and the general public, exemplifying YMCA-YWCA values and maintaining a high standard of work ethic.

Some of the tasks of this position include:

Keeping up to date inventory of food and supplies

Language

Fluent in English, oral and written
Bilingualism an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

Current Standard First Aid & CPR "C" certification
Safe food handling certification an asset
Be selfmotivating, enthusiastic and a responsible individual with strong leadership skills committed to the healthy development of children
Ability to work in a team setting
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Welldeveloped interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with program participants, members, staff and volunteers
Ability to give first priority to the campers' needs
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
Committed to the healthy development of children

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
Criminal Reference Check for the Vulnerable Sector, not more than 6 months old is required
Annually all staff must complete the mandatory training for the Protecting Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Persons, and submit the certificate of completion.
