GardaWorld has an exciting opportunity to be a Health & Safety Advisor.

You will provide health and safety advice, support, recommendations and solutions to GardaWorld clients as part of the company's health and safety support service.

This role will ensure that GardaWorld's operations and facilities are in compliance with all relevant legal requirements, and lead the OHS system for all branches across Ontario.

This position offers many developmental opportunities while working on a variety of projects and challenges, and will be based in Toronto with travel within Ontario.

What does a Health & Safety Advisor at GardaWorld do?

  • Conduct hazard assessments
  • Investigate client sites for safety and health hazards
  • Conduct internal audits of safety programs and implement corrective actions to address issues
  • Deliver health and safety training to managers, supervisors, and employees
  • Organize and lead Joint Heath and Safety Committees within a unionized and nonunionized environment
  • Support WSIB claims management
  • Perform related duties in support of the daytoday work

Qualifications to become a Health & Safety Advisor in Toronto

  • Minimum 5 years experience leading health and safety, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) is an asset
  • Must have driver's licence and ability to commute to different locations
  • Must have completed a health and safety degree/certificate/diploma or professional designation
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Desire to be hands on and work with front line employees throughout all branches in Ontario
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and execute tasks independently
