They work to improve opportunities and achievement for students, determine, communicate and implement curricular direction and innovation, and help set strategic direction and implement actions.

Learning Facilitators report to a Learning Superintendent.

The Learning Facilitator provides
learning leadership **by:


  • Providing individualized, timely and effective support (modelling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback) to classroom teachers in a pod of schools.
  • Building teachers' capacity to:
  • Use differentiated instruction, positive behaviour supports, universal design for learning, response to intervention.
  • Create safe, engaging, culturally relevant and ageappropriate learning environments.
  • Implement innovative practices that promote equitable and engaging learning opportunities for students.
  • Help schools and teachers to implement strategies in behavioural management, curriculum modifications and adaptations, functional life skills programming, and assistive technology.
  • Support antioppressive and social justice education and the development and integration of Indigenous ways of knowing, world view, and content.
  • Collaborating with schoolbased administrators to enhance teachers' abilities to address the unique strengths and needs of all learners in the school community regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ethnic origin, ancestry, culture, socioeconomic status, religion, family status, and mental and physical disability.
  • Collaborating with schoolbased administrators to support schoolbased teams.
  • Promoting the development of diverse instructional practices (e.g., introducing innovative ideas, questioning practices, making observations, supporting online learning, use of new technologies).
  • Collaborating with administrators and teachers to understand and use schoollevel and classroomlevel data to improve instruction including development, implementation, and monitoring of individual goals for inclusion and intervention plans.
  • Supporting outcomebased planning, assessment and instruction practices that are consistent with the Saskatchewan curriculum and the school division's expectations to enhance teacher capacity through a colearner model.
  • Supporting the implementation of Interventions Together (RTI) through direct teacher support as well as participation on school teams.

The Learning Facilitator provides
system leadership by:


  • Analyzing system and school-specific assessment data to develop and recommend targeted interventions and system-wide strategies to improve student achievement.
  • Working with multidisciplinary professionals and instructional staff, develop integrated and standardized approaches to support effective instruction, including managing professional development and resource selection and acquisition (learning resources, technology, equipment, supplies and facilities).
  • Fostering the philosophy of inclusion in the Division through the provision of resources, workshops, team meetings and formal professional development opportunities.
  • Working with Superintendents,
  • Develop, manage, and report on specific areas of operating budgets to allocate resources effectively.
  • Build partnerships with other school divisions, First Nations educational authorities, the Ministry of Education, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of instruction and assessment including professional development

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Valid Saskatchewan Professional A teacher certificate
  • Master's degree in a related field, or a willingness to obtain as a condition of employment
  • Significant demonstrable leadership at the school or division levels
  • Minimum five years of teaching experience
  • Special Education Certification is an asset
