What is the opportunity?
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division.

GFT's impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions.

Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.

We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

You will work with partners from across the company, participate in networking events, and have access to a wide variety of supports including mentorship.

What will you do?

  • Interface with the Corporate Treasury stakeholders to ensure their vision and backlog is implemented through technology solutions.
  • Define the technology strategy and roadmap aligned to business drivers
  • Manage the daytoday activities of the developers in the team across Toronto and India.
  • Work with PMs, BAs and business users to plan development activities on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with technical architects and other development managers to set the strategic direction for the Corporate Treasury.
  • Ensure that all relevant technical and operation risks associated with the system are addressed in a timely fashion.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Very strong technical and handson knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka
  • Strong understanding and implementation of experience of cloud technologies
  • Strong leadership of managing a software development team
  • Full SDLC experience design, build, test and release. Demonstrable experience in adopting Agile and DevOps practices

Nice to Have

  • Functional knowledge of Capital Markets and Corporate Treasury
  • Understanding of project management methodologies
  • Understanding of QA/QE and automation practices
