What is a GRU Assembler?

The GRU Assembler performs a variety of manual tasks to effectively fit and assemble Gas Recovery Units and assist in material handling or general labor, etc.


What We're Looking For?
One year mechanical assembly experience required.

Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications, handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks, and be an organized team player committed to quality.

This position will work 4 days per week, 5:30am to 4:00 pm.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately fit and assemble Gas Recovery Units.
  • Operation of various power tools (such as: saws, wrenches, nail gun, multitool, etc.)
  • Modify bill of materials and drawings to suit.
  • Steel cutting, pipe fitting and threading, tube bending and assembly, and mechanical assembly/assistance.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders, requisitions and other documentation.
  • Assist small parts department when needed.
  • General labor and assistance as assigned.
  • General plant duties and projects.
  • Effective use of material handling equipment when necessary (such as: lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.).
  • Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies and other devices when necessary.
  • Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
  • Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
  • Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
  • Perform all other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Required Experience:


  • One year mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Ability to handle nonroutine, standard projects and tasks.

Physical & Technical Environment:


  • Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee.
  • Required to wear impact goggles, face shield and hearing protection when using hand held grinders.
  • Ability to routinely travel throughout multifloor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs.
  • Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms.
  • Use various manual wrenches and tools with the intent to sufficiently clamp and unclamp parts in fixturing. Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.

Required Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
