Your opportunity:


Under the general direction of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Manager, Products and Applications, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University.

Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University's administrative management and student systems.

You will work in cross-functional teams with developers, analysts and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile development processes.

You will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support.

Specifically, you will be involved in continuing development of the Course Information System, implementation of existing and new functionality, and support for functionality already in production.

You will work closely with managers, senior stakeholders and team leads in managing project and development priorities, development sprints and the product road map.

You may be involved in work with associated systems in the Student Information Systems group.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements
  • Developing task schedules in concert with project schedules
  • Liaising with technical specialists to resolve enduser issues
  • Scheduling and assigning work to a small group in a limited area

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years working in post secondary education, preferably in Information Technology or in support of teaching and learning.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience as a business analyst on Information Technology projects performing requirements gathering, analysis and testing.
  • Experience with student registration and enrolment systems, especially in the area of course offering and student course enrolment. Experience with ROSI required
  • Experience with the use of business analysis practices and tools (e.g., MS Excel Pivot tables, MS Visio, LucidChart, PowerBI)
  • Experience in training users and producing user documentation.
  • Experience working in cross functional development and implementation teams including developers, userexperience designers, business analysts and business owners/stakeholders.
  • Experience creating operational roadmaps
  • Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience.
  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts.

  • Understanding of the evolving nature of higher education.
  • Experience in writing and executing queries and procedures in sql.
